A. Chris Gajilan is an award-winning journalist, documentarian, producer and writer. 

Currently, she is senior producer of The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper. She is a team leader who produces full-length documentaries and long-form features for the highly-acclaimed CNN Documentary unit.  Previously, she served as supervising producer of features and also oversaw digital, social media and podcast teams for the Emmy-Award winning CBS This Morning.

Earlier in her career, Chris worked as a senior producer for CNN, producing breaking news, segments and documentaries for CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Anderson Cooper 360 and American Morning.

As a former senior producer for Harpo Studios and OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, her work includes the Emmy award-winning series Super Soul Sunday, Oprah Prime, Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah Presents, and the legendary final seasons of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Her career has taken her to more than 50 countries. She is the recipient of multiple awards including a Peabody, multiple National Emmy Award wins and nominations, GLAAD Awards, National Headliner Awards and a Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Producer-Individual Achievement in News. 

In addition to writing and reporting for CNN and CNN.com, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and OWN, her work has been featured in TIME magazine, and The Huffington Post.

She earned her B.A. from Smith College in sociology and film studies, studied screenwriting at UCLA, and earned her Executive MBA in 2022.

Chris lives with her wife and daughter in the New York City area.
