A. Chris Gajilan is an award-winning journalist, television producer and writer. Currently, she is a staff producer for the highly-acclaimed CNN Documentary unit. 

Earlier in her career, Chris worked as a senior producer for CNN, producing breaking news, segments and documentaries for CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Anderson Cooper 360 and American Morning.

Previously, Chris was a producer for Harpo Studios and OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. Her recent work includes the Emmy award-winning series Super Soul Sunday, Oprah Prime, Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah Presents, and the legendary final seasons of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Her career has taken her to more than 50 countries. She is the recipient of multiple awards including a Peabody, National Emmy Awards, GLAAD Awards, National Headliner Awards and a Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Producer-Individual Achievement in News. 

In addition to writing and reporting for CNN and CNN.com, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and OWN, her work has been featured in TIME magazine, The Huffington Post and OZY.com.

She earned her B.A. from Smith College in sociology and film studies and studied screenwriting at UCLA.

Chris lives with her wife and daughter in the New York City area.
